Stevedore Missing for a Week

Thirty-four year old stevedore Tylon Gladden has been missing for almost a week. His mother Geraldine Brown came to News Five’s Studios on Coney Drive making a public plea for information on the whereabouts of her son who was last seen on Friday morning as he left his home on Cemetery Road to a nearby grocery store. But he has not been seen or heard from since then. Gladden, who is well known by his stage name, Spiritual Chef, is a local gospel singer in Belize City. According to his mother, Gladden has a bipolar disorder and their worried about his condition.

“Friday morning about six o’clock, he left home saying ih gwen dah shop on ih motorcycle and from then we noh see him again.”

“Has he done this before?”

“No, no.”

“He would normally tell you where he is?”

Geraldine Brown

“Yes. Well noh me, but ih wife noh come because she di mine the babies.”

“Have you been able to call him? Is he answering his phone or anything?”

“No, ih noh answer ih phone. We check with all ih people. His pa live dah village, but he noh gone there. He deh yah right now. We noh know weh ih deh.”

“What do you guys believe happened to him?”

Geraldine Brown

“I noh know. I noh know why ih do that.”

“Is it possible that he is with a friend or something like that?”

Geraldine Brown

“We noh know. We have no idea.”

Duane Moody

“So what do you want now?”

Geraldine Brown

“Just to say if anybody see him to report to the nearest police station or to 227-3942…his home, thirty-one Cemetery Road.”
