Police Maintain Presence on La Croix Boulevard

While a pair of men had been detained following the deadly shooting, they have since been released from custody.  Williams says the challenge is getting witnesses to provide investigators with statements.

“We had two persons detained and those persons have been released and like we always say, the difficulty is getting people to give us statements.  While we may know who are the perpetrators of these acts, we cannot go to court with what we know.  We can only go to court with empirical evidence and we do not have that; so, based on that, they were released.”

“In this particular case the police know who they are looking for.”

“But again the witnesses are the problem. Could you give us a status report on the situation concerning Mr. Brooks?”

“Mr. Brooks is still admitted in the hospital in a critical condition.  We’re hoping and praying for his recovery and hopefully he’ll be able shed some more light on that investigation for us.”
