Eastern Division Rural Prepares for Gang Flare-up
The city is on high alert following the recent gang murders and threat of more retaliations to come, but that vigilance isn’t restricted to that jurisdiction. Commander of the Rural Eastern Division Edward Broaster explained today that gang violence is known to spill over into the Belize District, and they’re preparing for anything that may come their way.
ACP Edward Broaster, Regional Commander, Rural Eastern Division
“Any problem that happens within the city reverberates within the Rural Eastern Division, and we have to be vigilant to ensure that we stave off any such retaliatory attacks. Like I mentioned before, we know that there are members of different gang elements that believe that the rural area is a safe haven for them, which I said before it’s not because these groups have their intelligence mechanism to identify where the different foes hang out. So we are on heightened alert to deal with whatever we have to deal with when it comes to that.”
