The meeting, which opened this morning at the Princess Hotel, includes the participation of the International Civil Aviation Organization and the Central American Corporation for Air Navigation Services. According to Department of Civil Aviation operations officer, Gilberto Torres, the gathering is just one of several efforts the representatives have undertaken to build relationships and improve aviation in the region.

?This group sits down, studies all matters related to air navigation. In this meeting we will deal with subjects like aerodromes, aeronautical information services, air-traffic management, communications, navigations, surveillance, search and rescue, and any other matter that?s related to air navigation.
Because Belize, as a contracting state, follows the standards and the recommended practices of the Civil Aviation Organization, so all matters related to air navigation, Belize makes all that effort to ensure compliance. The idea here is to ensure that air navigation prospers and the security, the safety, the efficiency is maintained there.?
The two previous meetings were held in Mexico and Guatemala.
