Belize clue helps Jeopardy champ into record books
Belize is no stranger to the popular television quiz show Jeopardy, but until now most of our involvement has been as a paid sponsor. This week, however, the jewel proved lucky for one man who has entered the record books as the winningest player in Jeopardy history. On Wednesday, Ken Jennings, a thirty-year-old software engineer from Utah, brought his sixteen-day total earnings to five hundred and twelve thousand, nine hundred fifty-nine dollars. His winning question: “The only nation in Central America in which the national anthem is sung in English.” Jennings’s feat was widely chronicled in the U.S. media including a lengthy “big up” session for Belize this morning on CNN.
