Fugitive mortgage broker said to be in Belize

It is often said that with our wide open spaces and live and let live attitude, our country is the ideal place for a fugitive from justice to hide out…and to be sure, we know of more than one foreign criminal on the run who, with the blessing of either or both ruling parties, have been reinvented as a productive and prosperous citizen of Belize. Tonight we have received word from federal officials in the U.S. state of Georgia that a woman indicted in a massive mortgage fraud now calls Belize home. Her name is Judith Hooper, and according to the indictment, after working with others to bilk various lenders out of twenty million U.S. dollars, the mortgage broker fled to Belize four years ago. Investigators say that she has assumed a new identity and also changed her appearance through plastic surgery. The picture on your screen of course is how Hooper used to look, but if something about the photo rings a bell, you may want to ask a few questions or give the U.S. marshals a call.
