Dream Wedding to broadcast live
For the two people involved, every wedding is the wedding of a lifetime. But for Ernest Broaster and Tifarah Gill, their trip down the aisle will be extra special…one, because the Radisson and other suppliers will pull out all the stops, and two, because the whole affair will cost them hardly a cent. Today I checked out the preparations for the big day.
Maria Otero, C.E.O., Radisson Fort George Hotel
?We want to make sure that everything goes well for them of course, but as well for us. We want to make sure that everything is without a glitch.?
Jacqueline Woods, Reporting
Newlyweds?to-be Ernest Broaster and Tifarah Gill will not be the only ones with butterflies in their stomachs on Saturday, as the entire staff of the Radisson will be working to ensure that Belize?s first wedding broadcast live on television goes off without a hitch.
Maria Otero
?The main purpose of it was to make everybody aware that we do weddings and we can make special occasions like that worthwhile.?
This afternoon, the rehearsal took place in the hotel?s garden. The wedding will be conducted by Pastor Rodney Gordon and attended by one hundred invited guests. The entire ceremony will be broadcast live on Channel 5.
Maria Otero
?It?s a lot of work, especially because we have other events in between, so we are making sure that the garden stays without mosquitoes or any other insects and make sure that the food comes fine and on time. Right now we are also looking at the schedule that we have, the schedule of events, because we need to make sure that everything goes on time.?
The lucky couple says they are not nervous; they only want the wedding to proceed as planned.
Tifarah Gill
?Well I am not nervous yet, but I do believe that tomorrow I will be nervous.?
Ernest Broaster
?Neither am I, I am not nervous at all. I think it?s a step that I was longing to take and it will work out fine.?
Gill and Broaster, who have been together for five years, have a son and a daughter. Both children will be very much involved in the ceremony.
For a front row seat at the Dream Wedding just tune in to Channel 5 at ten on Saturday morning.
