Manager Says Club Received No Money from William Mason

Andres Makin Sr.

Now, to get Police United to the Scotia Bank’s CONCACAF Champions League is an expensive venture. Approximately two hundred thousand dollars is required for the team and delegation to travel and compete in the regional games in Honduras. Club Manager, Superintendent Andres Makin Senior says that the league, as well as corporate sponsors, has assisted with the financing of the club. But as in the instance of the Belmopan Bandits, did accused murderer, William Mason, sponsor Police United?

Duane Moody

“In terms of accused murderer William Mason that several football clubs have received donations, sponsorship from him. Is the Police United one of those clubs?”

Supt. Andres Makin Sr., Manager, Police United Football Club

“I would prefer that the question be given or be asked to the President, who is Mister Grinage; he is the one who would be in a better position to say.”

Duane Moody

“Alford Grinage?”

Supt. Andres Makin Sr.

“Yes, he is the president of this club so he would be the more appropriate person to answer that question.”

Duane Moody

“But as manager, are you aware of anything like that, of any donation from him because I know that you said that it was two hundred thousand dollars that you guys were trying to raise?”

Supt. Andres Makin Sr.

“We were trying to raise two hundred thousand dollars, but I definitely we haven’t gotten anything from William Mason, as far as I am concerned, as the manager into the venture. This two hundred thousand dollars is from Champions League itself and from corporate sponsors that we have: Benny’s, Belize Bank, Social Security and so forth.”
