Murder in O.W. likely drug related

Police are tonight on the lookout for the person or persons responsible for the murder a San Pedro man in the Orange Walk District on Wednesday. The body of thirty-one year old Ernest McPherson was found around seven o’clock last night a short distance away from a red pickup truck on a feeder road in the area of Tower Hill. It had multiple gunshot wounds to the head and body. Police say so far their investigations have turned up precious little by way of clues and are appealing to anyone with information on the killing of McPherson to call the crime stoppers hotline at 9-2-2. Information received by News 5 indicates that McPherson, who had gone to Orange Walk to conduct business, was seen in the company of at least two other people yesterday afternoon, and that he had in his possession a large sum of money. While no motive has been ruled out, the crime is believed to be drug related.
