Not a finalist, but Miss Belize does well
Leilah Pandy
?Leilah Pandy, twenty-three; Miss Belize.?
That was about as much as we got to see of Miss Belize, Leilah Pandy, at last night’s Miss Universe pageant in Quito, Ecuador. Pandy, who by all accounts represented the country splendidly, was passed over by the judging panel for reasons known only to themselves. In all fairness, the quality of participants–including Pandy–was acknowledged to be the highest in recent memory. Our congratulations to Leilah and all those who supported her. Like the Chicago Cubs, we’ll continue the struggle next year.
