Cops finds 46 pounds of floating cocaine
Some idle residents of Belize’s coastal communities will spend a lifetime of beach combing without ever encountering that highly prized specie known as “Square Grouper.? Well on Sunday, it was the police who were blessed with fisherman’s luck. A maritime patrol operating some ten miles south of Belize City spied a suspicious package floating in the water and when they hauled it aboard, they discovered that it contained eighteen individually wrapped blocks of cocaine, weighing in at a total of over forty-six pounds. Nobody was found in the vicinity and it is assumed that the cocaine was part of a much larger wet drop by Colombian drug runners that went astray. The white powder is slated for destruction by authorities.
