P.M. leads delegation to Euro-Summit
Prime Minister Said Musa, just back from a diplomatic mission in the Far East, continues to rack up frequent flier miles… although this time the destination is much closer to home. On Thursday, he will travel to Guadalajara, Mexico for the third summit between leaders of the European Union, Latin America, and the Caribbean. The meeting will also give the P.M. a chance to sit down with Guatemalan President Oscar Berger to explore bilateral issues in advance of the next ministerial level meeting at the O.A.S. in Washington in June. For that reason, Belize’s delegation in Mexico will be unusually large, including Foreign Minister Godfrey Smith, Attorney General Eamon Courtenay, and Ambassadors Assad Shoman, Fred Martinez, and Salvador Figueroa, all veterans of the seemingly endless negotiating process with Guatemala.
