Why Theme is Appropriate, According to Culture Minister

Elodio Aragon Jr.

Co-Chair of the National Celebrations Commission and Culture Minister Elodio Aragon Junior, like Ken, hails from Orange Walk. He told us the theme is apt for this year’s festivities.

Elodio Aragon Jr., Minister of State, Culture

“I think when you look at the theme, talking about sovereignty, talking about us being strong as a nation, and also looking for us working together for that to happen, I think that couldn’t be a better theme for this year. Looking at our challenges, dealing with our own sovereignty, looking at the issues in terms of where we want to go, being resilient and strong as a people and a nation, I think that was fitting, and I think the National September Celebrations Committee definitely looked at those points, and at the end of the day they made their selection and this is the theme we have for this September.”

Minister Aragon is to deliver the keynote speech, opening the September Celebrations, via national radio and television this coming Sunday, August twenty-eighth.
