Road paved in Belize River Valley
It may lie in the same district as the nation’s commercial and population hub, but the rural communities of the Belize River Valley sometime seem as isolated as the villages of Toledo. That situation should change however, with the paving of the road from Burrel Boom into the district’s heartland. On Friday, Minister of Works Jose Coye inspected the project, which extends the road improvements for eleven point two miles. Coye also met with chairpersons of six area village councils, including Burrel Boom, Bermudian Landing, Scotland Half Moon, Double Head Cabbage, St. Paul’s Bank, and Rancho Dolores. The road should have a positive effect on agricultural production, tourism, and access to social services.
