Compol orders investigation into cellblock stabbing
The Commissioner of Police has ordered a full investigation into the stabbing of a prisoner at the Eastern Street police station on Thursday. Twenty year old Jermaine Pascasio was stabbed numerous times to the chest and back with a sharp object that was somehow smuggled into the holding cell. So far, neither the victim nor any of the other prisoners have been willing to identify the attacker. However, disciplinary charges have been levied against two officers on duty at the time. Pascasio was about to be taken over to court when he was attacked. He is on remand for the 2003 murder of Belize City Businessman, Inez Leal.
