Orange Walk Man Charged for Murder After One of His Victims Dies
Back in June, a minor, Kian Chuc was severely wounded in a chopping incident in Yo Creek, Orange Walk District. Within four days of the incident, on July twenty-eighth, he succumbed to the injuries. Chuc was a member of a family who was chopped at their house. Leroy Banner, another resident of the village, was detained by the police and originally charged with aggravated burglary and maim following the violent episode. Tonight, police have now updated that charge to one of murder and have also charged him with attempted murder, aggravated burglary and assault as well as wounding. Wielding a machete, Banner allegedly chopped three adults and three minors. In the village, it was known that Banner was suffering from a mental illness, but he was not receiving treatment.
