“Mental patient’s” cause of death determined
In an update to the strange death of a young man in Belize City on Friday, post mortem results indicate that twenty-eight year old Fred Petillo died from cerebral oedema aspiration. Through medical research, News 5 understands the condition to be the result of untreated insulin dependent diabetes. Petillo, described as a mental patient, attacked his mother last Friday with a hammer. When his stepfather tried to subdue him, Petillo fell to the floor apparently unconscious. He was rushed to the K.H.M.H., but was pronounced dead on arrival.
