16-year-old detained for mile 8 murder
A teenager faces charges of murder following an incident at the mile eight on the Western Highway on Monday evening. According to police, around five p.m. nineteen year old Jason Encalada got into a fight with another young man, who also lives at the mile eight community. When the dust cleared, Encalada had been stabbed in the chest. He was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital but died while undergoing treatment. The teenager has been detained while police continue to investigate the incident. While this was Encalada’s last fight, police tell News 5 this was not the first time he and the detained teenager were involved in a physical altercation.
