P.U.P. will have to re-introduce motion for inquiry
Will President Lee Mark Chang allow the Senate to reintroduce a motion to vote for a Senate Select Committee? It’s a question that can only be answered at the next session of upper parliament. While PM Barrow refused to speculate on that end, he says that he hopes that the president would grant the opportunity to have the proposal tabled once again.
Prime Minister Dean Barrow
“They would have to get the president to agree that they can bring it back, I don’t think that it would be a problem and I don’t hope that it would be a problem but I am not the president of the senate. They get through that hurdle what we will do remain to be decided because we have to go back to cabinet. But I am saying that in view of Darrell Bradley position, in view of the fact that the Chamber of Commerce is saying to me. Given that the Chamber of Commerce is looking at the issue and may well conclude that it thinks that the senate inquiry is better. I have been told by bishops Papouloute and Wright that they too are looking at the issue and I don’t know, perhaps they may come down in favor of the Senate inquiry.”
