There was nothing Melanie Abraham and her two young children could do to save any of their possessions. The family was not home at the time of the blaze that started shortly after twelve on Sunday morning.
Ted Smith, Operations Manager, National Fire Service
“Nothing was saved. The whole building was lost. From the adjacent building used as the shop, inside was not destroyed by fire, in fact, they didn?t have any direct flame contact internally, but they did have smoke and heat damage inside.”
The Abraham children lost their schoolbooks and other supplies. If you would like to help the family rebuild, you can contact Arlette Abraham at Channel 5. Jacqueline Woods, reporting for News 5.
