Attorneys plan move against “elite” Bar Association
The Government moved legislation in September of 2014 to amend the Legal Profession Act. It removed mandatory membership in the Bar Association, paving the way for attorneys to form or join a new association. It stemmed from former Attorney General Wilfred Elrington taking his complaints about the Association public, but it had appeared, at least earlier this year, that the Bar won the battle. But hold that thought, because prominent attorney Richard ‘Dickie’ Bradley confirmed to us in an interview yesterday that there is, possibly, movement underfoot to form another Bar Association. He explained what the thinking is of the attorneys involved.
Richard “Dickie” Bradley, Attorney
“For those attorneys who practice in the courts of this country, who see the many wrong doings, the injustice that take place, the need for improvement in our system, the have been discussing and there is a chance they are going to form a bar or work along with bar association. Because the bar association without being too critical doesn’t represent what is going on in our society, they are elite, highty tighty group you are dealing with.”

“That will take too long, that is different and not what I am saying. I am saying the poorer classes of people who police could beat up, who they could take form their homes and lock them up for two days, three days and nothing comes out of it. Now that we know that they are tampering with evidence, who plant evidence on people, who lie on them, who all police have the exact statement when they come to court; no two beings can have an exact statement like that. We are not stupid; we are saying that there is a need to take corrective action to make our country better. The poorer classes of people di get chance.”
