Opposition wants independent inquiry of K.H.M.H.
The Prime Minister has called for a quick investigation into the alleged corruption taking place at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital but the opposition party says this is not going far enough. The People’s United Party issued a statement today saying that the official investigation is insufficient and unacceptable because there are no known terms of reference and the investigating team has no power to summon witnesses. It says that the process would also be hampered because the persons under investigation have not been suspended and can potentially interfere with the investigation. The opposition says it wants instead an Independent Commission of Inquiry. According to the P.U.P., the P.M. has also failed to appoint independent inquiries in the highly publicized deaths of babies Evander Sho and Andy Jones in addition to the death of cañero, Atanacio Gutierrez. The P.U.P. also calls for an independent investigation into the alleged corruption taking place in the Ministries of Housing and Lands.
