Attorney Says He May Release Documents Proving Coercion

The fifth person to come forward is Edward McKoy of twenty-six Dean Street in Belize City; he is a former security personnel employed by McAfee, who claims he was paid three thousand Belize dollars to provide information through an interview for the documentary. McKoy is the first to provide a paper trail; and News Five obtained a copy of the original receipt from Western Union at the Zitro Branch on Queen Victoria Street in Orange Walk, which the company has said is authentic. It purports that Burstein transferred one thousand five hundred U.S. dollars to him. Neal told News Five this evening that he is sifting through other documents and at least three other persons have come forward with similar claims.

Bryan Neal, Attorney for Edward McKoy

“Well, last night without any prompting from me, I received a phone call regarding one Mister McKoy, who shared with me a Zitro, a Western Union receipt for three thousand Belize dollars, fifteen hundred U.S. dollars that he alleges was sent to him, and the name on the receipt – I shared it with the press – the name on the receipt is the self-same producer of the film that we are challenging right now. He is saying that he was paid, in addition to that three thousand dollars, more money by these executives of Showtime, to say false things about Mister John McAfee, and we couldn’t just ignore that evidence. Well I don’t want to say – I will say, go on record because I have provided evidence for the three thousand – there is more, but when we – if he decides to speak to the press, that is up to him to say. But his relationship was a relationship which was quite close to Mister McAfee and he, just like the others, is saying that he was forced to try to paint Mister McAfee in a very bad light, and that is what he is resisting.”

“Did he too sign off on release documents?”

Bryan Neal

“Yes, he did. In fact I have copies of those documents that I am still perusing; I didn’t share them with the press because I haven’t done so yet. So as soon I have perused them I think I will share them with the press, if he instructs me to do so.”

News Five was able to get in contact with McKoy, but he wished not to comment at this time.
