Man Charged for Robbery of Son of Home Affairs Minister
In court today, a suspect in the robbery of Kyrston Hulse, the son of the Minister of Home Affairs, was robbed at gunpoint on September twenty-second on Marine Parade Boulevard, Belize City. Kryston was in the company of his girlfriend celebrating his birthday, when he was robbed at gunpoint of his mother’s four-Runner SUV vehicle. The following day, police picked up one of three suspects, identified as twenty-four year old Lyndon Hinds, of Iguana Street Extension. Hinds was detained by CIB police at an apartment on Matura Street. This afternoon, he was arraigned before Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser for robbery but denied that he had robbed Hulse of the vehicle. According to Hulse, three men approached him; one cranked a firearm, demanding that he hand over the keys of the vehicle. In fear for their lives, he so did and two of the men drove off. The third jumped into a vehicle parked nearby. Hinds was denied bail and remanded into custody at the Belize Central Prison until November sixteenth, 2016.
