Today, President Luke Palacio said they intended to meet with the other unions to tell their side. He also addressed the warning he gave last week about intending to sue Government over allegations of union-busting.

“Yes, every effort will be made to meet with the other unions; we definitely intend to do that.”

“Sir, and as it relates to the pronouncements you made at the rally about suing the Government for union-busting, has anything proceeded in that regard?”
Luke Palacio
“We are still getting the documents together, because again, you will note that the Prime Minister conveniently reported on a decision by former Chief Justice Conteh in the 2005 issue, about where the unions were asking, I think he said for the Contractor General to be removed, and that the former Chief Justice ruled that that was not a matter for industrial action; but he refused to tell this nation that the same Chief Justice Conteh ruled that it was illegal for them to take out of teachers’ salaries.”
