Prime Minister Asks Joint Union Negotiating Team to Meet on Salary Deferral

Following a meeting last Thursday PM Barrow said he had asked the B.N.T.U. for another meeting. On Sunday in a statement to the nation, he said the union needs to return to the negotiating table. That statement was followed by a letter to the Joint Unions Negotiating Team this Tuesday. Barrow notes that eleven days have passed and there has been only silence from the unions. He states, “Time is clearly of the essence and I therefore ask for a meeting at your earliest convenience so that we might try to progress this long outstanding matter. Government earnestly wishes to finalize our joint consideration of the salary adjustment payment and I so ask for a reply soonest to this letter.”
