Colombian boat found abandoned in Caye Caulker

On Thursday it was a suspected drug plane that landed in the Orange Walk District, this afternoon, police in Caye Caulker discovered another suspected narcotics vessel, this time a Colombian boat. Responding to information received, officers were dispatched to an area in front of Caye Caulker village where they found the thirty-six to forty-foot boat sitting on the reef. The vessel had been stripped of its engines and the only thing found on board were three containers, which were filled with gasoline. Police have towed the vessel into Belize City and have launched an investigation to try and determine its origin and contents of its cargo. As is the case with these discoveries, no one was in the area.
