Belmopan student gang raped

Belmopan police are investigating a disturbing report made by a sixteen year old high school student who says she was raped by a gang of nine young men yesterday. Initial reports reaching News 5 are that the second form student was allegedly attacked on a field during a sports day. However, when we contacted the high school principal he informed us that he is not aware of exactly what transpired, but that no such incident occurred at their school activity, as he understands it, the young woman was among the first set of students who left in a bus from the sports day after it finished around two on Thursday afternoon. According to the principal, the student was last seen getting off the bus at Belmopan’s Market Square. The principal did confirm that the police have shown him a list of names of the suspects and he has recognized some as his students. The sports day was a joint activity between several schools.
