Fatal accidents reported in Ladyville and Orange Walk
A fatal traffic accident between miles thirteen and fourteen on the Philip Goldson Highway shortly before ten-thirty on Friday night has left one man dead. Ladyville Police responded to the scene of the road traffic accident where they saw a motionless twenty-year-old Jairo Sosa, a labourer of thirteen and a half miles Philip Goldson Highway. Sosa was suffering from severe head and body injuries. About twenty-two feet away, police discovered a motorcycle with extensive damage to the front, as well as Belize City license plate pickup truck driven at the time by twenty-eight-year-old Jamie Young of Sand Hill Village. According to the police press release, Young was driving in the direction of Belize City to Sand Hill and when he arrived between miles thirteen and fourteen, he collided into the cycle in his lane which was travelling from the opposite direction. A urine sample was taken from Young and he was served with a Notice of Intended Prosecution. Also on Friday night, twenty-five year old Abraham Diaz and thirty-four year old Alfonso Solis both of August Pine Ridge died after the motorcycle they were riding was involved in an accident with a black Ford F-two hundred pickup. The pickup was traveling from August Pine Ridge towards San Felipe in the Orange Walk district and the collision occurred between miles eighteen and nineteen.
