Union Senator goes to Senate meeting; terms of reference a concern

Marvin Mora

An N.T.U.C.B. senator has also been named to the Senate Investigation Committee on Immigration. This morning, the N.T.U.C.B. president said that after much debate within the Unions, Union Senator, Elena Smith, will participate in the Senate Select Committee but they still remain concerned about the terms of reference of the committee.

Marvin Mora, President, NTUCB

“That one took hours to debate and we will tell you why, one of the things that has to be said is that within the context of that senate select committee, I think one of the things that we got blindsided by was the fact that we are looking at the numbers and that really does not play that much role. The real crooks of the matter lies in the TOR or the terms of reference, that limits the scope of things that the members within that senate can do. So do not expect that and this is coming out of discussions out of the congress. Do not expect people being prosecuted, that’s not going to happen.”
