…while Miami Belizeans help cadet corps
And while police officers get to sit through PowerPoint presentations, the Youth Cadet Corp will be receiving some much needed funds from an upcoming event in Miami. This morning the Vice President of the Belize Florida Cultural Park Fest Foundation handed over a plaque and a promise to Police Commissioner Carmen Zetina in appreciation for the work they are doing with the community, both young and old.
Reginald Jex, V.P., Belize-Florida Cultural Park Fest
“I was here in November. I sat down and spoke with the Commissioner of Police and he asked me to do some contribution to the Belize Youth Cadet Corps. And I have been in the police force for like eight years and when I went to Florida, we formed this organisation and we decided that was what we’re gonna do with the organisation, give them a forty percent of the proceeds of whatever we make.”
Carmen Zetina, Police Commissioner
“Well it’s just a matter of the foundation expressing some sort of appreciation for what we have been doing in Belize with regards to community policing. And I think the foundation will work towards helping us in increasing our police activities in regards to community policing.”
The park fest is scheduled to take place in August.
