Murder on San Pedro: “Old Beef” Killed Lincoln Robinson Senior
He was charged back in 2004 with aggravated assault, threat of death against a police officer and discharging a firearm in public, as well as the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, but tonight, forty-three year old Lincoln Robinson Senior is dead. He was executed on Saturday morning as he left Fido’s Club on Barrier Reef Drive on San Pedro. News Five’s Duane Moody was on the island looking for answers.

Early Saturday morning, as partygoers retired from a night of socialing at a club of Barrier Reef Drive, the festive mood was shattered by the echoes of gunshots. Lincoln Robinson Senior had been gunned down just outside Fido’s Restaurant around five-twenty a.m. The forty-three year old resident of the San Mateo area was hit two times to the face at close range. As Robinson fell to the ground, the gunman reportedly fired another shot before fleeing the scene.
Voice of: Supt. Sandra Bodden, O.C., San Pedro Police Formation
“Upon responding to the information, police found a male persons dressed in full black lying on Barrier Reef Drive; he was bleeding from the head. He had apparently been shot. That person was identified as Lincoln Robinson Senior, forty-three years of San Pedro Town. The investigation reveals that he was walking home from the club when a single male person approached him and shot him pointblank to the head.”
Shirley Ellington, Common-law Wife of Murder Victim
“He was with two young ladies at the time. I don’t know their names.”

“And all of this happened exactly where in San Pedro?”
Shirley Ellington
“This happened exactly in front of Fido’s Restaurant.”
Andrea Polanco
“So it happened in front of people?”
Shirley Ellington
“Yes ma’am.”
Robinson Senior was out socializing at the popular club on the island. Just after five, he headed home to his common-law wife, Shirley Ellington, but was killed as he exited on to Barrier Reef Drive. Ellington says she felt that something was awfully wrong.

“When I lay down to sleep, right then I get the call that Lincoln is dead. When I saw the call, I knew it was that because I knew they wanted to hurt him and I know nobody was going to call me dehn hours just like that. This was like five o’clock.”
But who wanted to kill Robinson Senior and why? According to Ellington, he was involved in a fight about two months ago and that, she believes, resulted in his murder. Police confirm that while there is no record of the altercation, investigation is showing that the incident may have been the motive for the homicide.
“The information that we have received so far is that about three months ago, an altercation had taken place between Robinson and two other men and so that may be the motive for the incident. The investigation into this matter continues. And although we have no information in our records to show this altercation may have taken place, police still continue to do our regular patrols, especially on the weekend. And we see the need to do this because we know that crime in general affects everybody and we don’t want to give the citizens any unusual cause for concern.”

“They had a young bwai that he had an altercation with off of a bike. The young bwai say how we stole his bike and everybody know dah San Pedro we noh ride bike; we drive golf cart. And he di accuse Lincoln ah thief bike and they beat up Lincoln, but I mi think ih done deh. The young man come to me and threaten me and say he will kill me, Lincoln and my pikney dehn. We tell the police, the police charge him and he said that it was a lie that I said and now they take him away from me.”
Shortly after the incident, investigation led police to the detention of three persons in connection with the homicide. And by today, police formally charged and arraigned Deshawn Goff for the murder. The incident is even more heartbreaking for Ellington because the accused is related to them.
