Co-workers Come to Blows; One Left in Hospital with Cracked Skull

Selvyn Tillett

In further violence up north, a pair of co-workers got into a confrontation in Orange Walk’s Louisiana neighbourhood over the weekend. It resulted in one of them landing in hospital with a very serious injury. Orange Walk Formation’s commanding officer, Superintendent Selvyn Tillett, says police are still trying to figure what caused the attacker of Frederick Young to snap.

Supt. Selvyn Tillett, O.C., Orange Walk Police

“I know we had an incident where a person was hit with a spanner to his head. One Frederick Young, of Savannah Street, Orange Walk, claimed that he was walking in the Louisiana Area when a male person stopped their vehicle; they had a confrontation, and the person got out, got what appeared to be a wheel spanner and hit him in the head. Mister Young was transported to the Northern Regional Hospital, then to the K.H.M.H., where it was noted that he had a fractured skull. So far police have detained one person, pending investigation.”

“Do police know what is the cause of this assault?”

Supt. Selvyn Tillett

“At this moment no, because as we understand, both are well-known to each other and they are co-workers, so we don’t what was the problem, that caused this issue.”
