Creative Tiles defeats Delta Sport
Good evening, I’m James Adderley with this fresh delivery of Sports Monday. Week ten of the B.P.F.L.’s B League took us to Sandhill field yesterday where Creative Tiles held court against archrival Delta Sports of Belize City.
We join the action as Delta Sport goes on the attack and this pass from Thomas Rodriguez should have produced a goal, only Benito Suazo and Denman Ramos get in each other’s way.
For sure folks, the only this that comes to mind here when Benito Suazo embarrasses himself is water-knee.
Meanwhile, Creative Tiles finally looks potent when Lorenzo Diaz fires at Edgar Suazo, who makes the save.
The Tiles make a move again when this spotkick from Carlos Cawich, but it skids off the crossbar. And you know it’s goals that brings the W and at the half there’s none to show.
In the opening moments after intermission Ladyville goes to Thedran Reid, who instead of bombing the goal–whacks the keeper who remains unfazed.
On this offensive press, Reid gets taken down by Marvin Arriola inside the eighteen, so referee Clother rules penalty. The Tiles send Albert Thurton and he makes it look easy as his team takes a 1-zip lead some three minutes into second half.
Delta Sport looks to reply by going to Carlos Cruz, but he butchers the execution. Again, it’s Delta Sport on the hunt for this nice individual effort by Benito Suazo fails to find the back of the net.
It’s now a brutal ballgame in a tense environment when the ugly happens. Thedran Reid must have done something to be attacked here by Delta Sport players, but watch a fan come from nowhere to administer a punch to Reid’s head side.
The police chase the fan and captured him, but maybe they should have also focused on this commotion on the field and we’re certain this young man in the red shirt must be feeling alone against Rome at this point.
The two out of control fans are then taken out of the park, but we say the referee must do a better job of maintaining control on the field of play. Fortunately, the match does reach its natural conclusion as Creative Tiles record the 1-zip big W over Delta Sport.
In other results from around the league, Corozal Strikers stopped Rural All Stars 3-1, Hattieville blanked Caye Caulker 2-zip, A.F.C. crushed Youth for the Future 3-nil, while Kremandala overwhelmed A.C. Milan 7-zip.
In F.F.B. football news, Boca beat Valley pride 1-zip at Arnold’s Farm yesterday, while JAT of Dangriga forfeited its match with Boca Juniors.
We are gonna keep you posted as the representative to CONCACAF will come from this particular league.
In cricket news, Berlan of Bermudian Landing proved too much for Bright Star, crushing the set 176-45. Unfortunately, we have the pictures but no individual stats from this ballgame.
In other results from the Harrison Parks cricket competition, on Saturday Wicked Eleven beat Long Journey 148-68, Brilliant intercepted Highway Bombers 180-44, and Surprise disposed of Construction Eleven 57-52. With seven wickets to spare ran away from United 199-60, Western Eagles flew past Sunrise 107-50, and Wanderers embarrassed Brave Union 25-24 at capital city in Belmopan with all of ten wickets to spare.
That’s it for now, we invite you back same time, same place, next week. Jah over all! I’m James Adderley.
