Family Life conference at City Centre

Story Picture
A group of missionaries from the United States is in Belize this week, but their work involves more than just winning souls for the Kingdom. Working along with the local churches, the group will hold a series of workshops and seminars over the next four days aimed at strengthening the family. One of the facilitators, Pastor Carol Kipp, says there will be something for everyone who attends the conference.

Pastor Carol Kipp, Facilitator, Family Life Conference

“This is a family life conference. This is going to be a whole week of focus on the family. It’s going to be a sons and daughters breakthrough conference. And the whole emphasis is going to be on the family, mothers, fathers, sons, and daughters. Ministering to them individually and together, to bring the family together to strengthen the family in this day.”

“We’re going to begin the meetings on Tuesday night, the twenty-fourth is going to be the opening ceremony. Then we are going to do Wednesday morning meetings and Wednesday afternoon for the women, nine to eleven and one to three-thirty. And these are going to be meetings to strengthen women on how to be women, how they have a destiny and a purpose, how to be a better mother and others, and just mothers.”

“We’re going to give you practical things on how to live your life everyday. There are going to be Thursday night meetings and Friday night meetings just for men where we are going to challenge men to have honour, to have respect, to be the father and to be the husbands that they are supposed to be.”

The family life conference opens on Tuesday night at the Belize City Centre. It will end this weekend with a youth rally on Saturday night and a communion service on Sunday. The visiting facilitators are from a United States based organisation called “Friends of the Fatherless” which counsels those who grew up without fathers.
