Ship employee charged with drug trafficking
A Jamaican employee on one of the cruise lines visiting Belize was arrested by police on Thursday after the ship’s security searched his cabin and discovered six point five kilograms of cocaine and ten thousand U.S. dollars. His bunkmate, who is from St. Vincent, was originally held for questioning, but he has been released. Twenty-year-old Sandree Grant of Ocho Rios, Jamaica appeared in Magistrate’s Court today and was charged with two counts of drug trafficking.
