Girls seek Miss A.C.C. crown
On Friday night six young ladies from the Anglican Cathedral College will be vying for the title of Miss A.C.C. The pageant is just one of many activities the school has been holding to raise funds. Earlier this week News 5 caught up with the students and tonight we introduce them in the hope that you will provide the needed support.
Ashlee Sutherland, 15 years old
“I entered this pageant not only to have fun and gain exposure, but because it provides a media through which I can encourage my peers to get good grades and set reachable goals.”
Delonie Flores, 16 years old
“Hi, my name is Delonie Flores. I am sixteen years old. I am a contestant in the A.C.C. pageant. I will be performing a dance for you so come on out and enjoy.”
Adrianna Hernandez, 14 years old
“I entered this pageant because I wanted to show everyone the talented gift that God has given me. I just hope everyone comes out and have fun.”
Natasha Hernandez, 16 years old
“Learning about the different cultures in Belize, the Mayas, Chinese, Creole, and the Garinagu and much more.”
Keisha Roca, 17 years old
“Hi, my name is Keisha Roca and I am proudly representing the class of 2 Michael. I am seventeen years old and I will be performing a song by Monica for the Miss A.C.C. pageant.”
Sherilee McKenzie, 17 years old
“Come out and support this worthy cause because we going to have a whole heap of fun. I am doing karate, which as you know is so great. So just come out and support this worthy cause. You’re going to have a lot of fun and just enjoy the show.”
Teacher Brian Plummer, Pageant Promoter
“Currently, a lot of students have fees outstanding and we need to meet that shortfall. And just the general running of the school, there is a need for funds. Any credible school I know normally runs in the red because the facilities and so are expensive to maintain.”
A.C.C. is hoping to raise five thousand dollars. The pageant gets underway at Birds Isle from seven Friday night. Tickets are five dollars each and can bought at the school or at the gate on the night of the event.
