Teen drowns in San Ignacio
A Saturday afternoon swim ended tragically when a teenager drowned in the Macal River. Fourteen-year-old Victor Rendon of Santa Elena told police he and his uncle, Edgar Rendon, aged fifteen, went swimming around three p.m. About an hour later, Edgar went down, but did not resurface. His lifeless body was later found near the Hawkesworth Bridge. Police do not suspect foul play.
