Missing-at-Sea; Security Guard Found Dead Near Tobacco Caye

A security guard went missing at sea after the boat he was traveling in capsized near Tobacco Caye. Around two-thirty p.m. last Thursday, a skiff transporting Corporal Carlos Galvez, Police Constable David Mejia, George Lopez as well as Linsford Joseph Locayo, and his common-law wife and their nine-month-old daughter capsized one mile from the Tobacco Caye Range in southern Belize. While all passengers were rescued Locayo was not that fortunate after he was flung from the boat. After two days of search, his body was retrieved northwest of Tobacco Caye on Saturday evening by the Belize National Coast Guard.
