Japan donates to B.C.V.I., CARE
This morning, the Belize Council for the Visually Impaired saw the light at the end of a very dark tunnel as some much needed funding has come their way. In Belmopan today, Japan’s Ambassador to Belize, His Excellency Mutusyoshi Nishimura, presented a cheque for more than seventy-five thousand U.S. dollars to Prime Minister Said Musa. According to the B.C.V.I., the money will be used to remodel and expand its facility and services in Punta Gorda and construct a new building in Belize City to house the Community Agency for Rehabilitation and Education. CARE specializes in providing assistance to people with disabilities, specifically physical therapy to young children. The funding was made possible through the Japanese Small Scale Grant Assistance programme.
