Kashief Gallego Shot on Weekend
The south side of Belize City has been rather quiet and little to no crime is always good news to report. But over the weekend, on Sunday night, there was a shooting on East Canal. Just before eleven p.m., twenty-four year old Kashief Gallego was shot to the left thigh and buttocks as he was walking in proximity to his house. According to Police, Gallego’s shooting was gang related.
ACP Chester Williams, Regional Commander, Eastern Division South
“Over the weekend, Saturday night I believe, there was a shooting on East Canal where one Kashief was shot. He was admitted to the hospital in a stable condition. We are currently looking for one person in respect of that incident; we have not been able to catch up with that person, but we are hoping that pretty soon we will and that investigation should be able to progress.”

“Sir, in terms of the shooting, has a motive been established? We are understanding—and can you confirm—that it may have stated from an incident that took place on the north side?”
ACP Chester Williams
“That was what we initially thought, but our investigation so far has ruled that out and it is a gang related shooting.”
