Lauriano charged with murder
The long arm of the law has finally reached out and touched Darrington Lauriano. Lauriano is the man police believe shot and killed twenty-three year old Kareem Broaster as he sat in front of a house on North Creek on January fifteenth. Lauriano, who lives in the area, managed to elude police until Thursday morning when they received a tip that their suspect was hiding out in a house situated behind Queen Square Anglican Primary School. It did not take long for authorities to secure the area and move in to make their arrest. Although Lauriano resisted at first and tried to run, he eventually surrendered to police. Today Lauriano was charged with murder and remanded to Hattieville prison.
In another update to a shooting we reported on January twenty-second, News 5 has been informed by hospital authorities that twenty-four year old Kenrick Johnson, who was shot several times on his birthday, has regained consciousness and is in a stable condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. We understand, however, that he has not been cooperating with the police. Johnson was shot as he stood outside an alley on West Canal. Reports are that a young man wearing a red shirt rode up on his bicycle and shot Johnson with a nine-millimetre pistol. At the scene, the police recovered four expended shells.
