‘Battle Cancer Walk’ in Placencia next weekend

Story PictureThe Belize District Cancer Walk was held this past weekend, and if you missed it, there’s another chance to walk for the cause. The third annual ‘Battle Cancer Walk’ is taking place in Placencia. The event is organized by the Blissful Sage Foundation in memory of the father of Racquel Battle, the organization’s president. Battle’s father, Elton Leslie Senior, passed away three years ago and his dying wish was to have a hospice care facility in southern Belize. The walk is an important fundraiser for the construction of the hospice and Battle came to our studios today to extend an invitation to the public.

Raquel Battle, President/Founder, Blissful Sage Fndn.
“Our goal is to have this annual cancer awareness walk for early detection of cancer. We have cancer screenings on Friday, June twenty-sixth in Placencia village following the cancer walk, which starts in seine Bight village and ends in Placencia village.”

On the twenty-third, twenty-fourth and twenty-fifth of June, we’ll have registrations at the Tourism Center in Placencia Village and if you’re in Independence, see Ann-Marie Mena.
