Kremandala tops Hattieville in B League football

Story Picture
Good evening, I’m James Adderley and you’ve locked into this latest dish of Sports Monday. We take you immediately to the Hattieville field where the Hattieville Sporting Club hosted Kremandala Lake of Belize City yesterday in week seven of the B.P.F.L.’s B League.

We’re only seven minutes in when Paul Bradley centres into the danger zone. Deon Flowers gets a head on the ball, but gets too much of the Hattieville defence to make the goal count.

This time downfield Deon McCauley gets two shots at goal, but both get snuffed out by the tough Hattieville defence.

Let’s ask a philosophical question here: did Kremandala settle for the hardest shot in this situation? Nevertheless they keep up the pressure.

Okay, so let’s go back to Deon Flowers and here he is squandering his third attempt at goal. And yes, this is Deon McCauley’s second miss from point-blank range.

At the other end, we’ve finally got a highlight, and despite this wonderful run from Rudolph Spain he can’t execute the finish for

Hattieville.

Can the host team grab the lead on this press? Let’s just say they should have. Of course it was only a matter of time. Deon McCauley can’t finish his run, so Paulie Bradley steps up to give the Lake a 1-zip lead.

Meanwhile folks, I know you’re wondering how come this one doesn’t score, but then so am I. At the half it’s a 1-nil Lake lead.

As we go to second half, we ask what would the B league be without a little bit of this and a little bit of that. (Players fighting) It almost spills over into something huge, but in the end mercifully calm is returned.

When the action does resume, the Lake picks up where it left off-dominating but failing to score. However, a few minutes later Jerome Jones makes amends for his earlier miss by punching one through despite a gallant effort from Hattieville keeper Rofile Chun.

Goal number three comes from the penalty spot when David McCauley steps up with this wicked conversion. Paulie Bradley then centres into the danger zone, direct to the head of Cedric Avilez and Kremandala leads 4-nil.

Meanwhile folks, this sequence certainly displays the numerous opportunities the Lake has to score, but they come up empty on this trip.

Things take a turn for the worse for Hattieville when Maurice Francis’s offering from the penalty spot is rejected by Derol Roaches as Kremandala Lake goes on to post the 4-zip big W.

In other action around the league, A.C. Milan and Youth for the Future struggled to a 2-2 stalemate, while Creative Tiles clubbed Yabra United 5-2.

In F.F.B.’s A League, play over the weekend Boca Juniors edged Diablos Rojos 3-2, Boca beat Georgetown 3-2, Toledo Ambassadors and Valley Pride settled for a 2-2 tie, while J.A.T. edged New Site Erei 3-2.

That’s it for now folks, but before we go we simply want to remind you that the Belize Cycling Association will be presenting Family Day at the Marion Jones Sports Complex on January twenty-fifth. You don’t want to miss it; it’s a perfect package for prime time excitement and family entertainment. That’s our show for today, we invite you back same time, same place, next week. Jah over all! I’m James Adderley.
