Gill says he will not sue police

But no one can be more relieved with the surprise turn of events than Douglas Gill. Gill, who has been shaken by the treatment he received from the police who conducted the search, says he is grateful to Commissioner Zetina for being humble enough to apologize for the incident. Gill is not sure if he will continue to live in Belize, but he says as a result of this afternoon’s meeting, he has no intention of pressing charges against the Police Department.

“I accept that and I’ll go along with it. He came forward, I was considering going further than this, but I get that apology from the Commissioner and I feel satisfied. Yes it sure does.”
Commissioner Zetina was accompanied by Police Press Officer G. Michael Reid and Sergeant Chester Williams, the officer in charge of the Criminal Investigation Unit that conducted the search.
