Accused gun thieves at B.E.L. charged
A B.E.L. Security Guard was robbed at gun point of his firearm and even though he put up a fight he was over powered by a pair of gun men. One of the two alleged robbers has been identified as a minor who was arraigned in the Belize City Family Court this afternoon on a single charge of robbery. The minor whose name will not be revealed pleaded not guilty, Bail was denied bail and he was remanded into custody at the Wagner’s Facility located on the compound of the Belize Central Prison until February first, 2017. The robbery occurred on December fifteenth, 2016 at the B.E.L. headquarters in the City. The sixteen year old minor was detained after he caught a bus and was heading from the north to the south side. He told police, however, that he was at home at the time of the robbery. He later left to visit a friend at a high school located not too far from B.E.L. and that instead of catching a taxi he took the bus. Police nabbed him in front of the Social Security Board on Princess Margaret Drive and escorted him to the police station where he was identified as one of the alleged robbers by the B.E.L. security guard. Police are on the lookout for his accomplice.
