More on Slick Attempted Home Invasions in Ladyville
And that technology seems to be much need in places like Sunset Park and Lake Gardens. These are two small communities within the Rural Eastern Division. And ACP Edward Broaster says that there have been a string of attempted burglaries in those areas. He gave us an update on how the Police, with the help of alert residents, were able to foil at least two burglaries:
ACP Edward Broaster, Regional Commander, Rural Eastern Division
“There was a burglary in progress and our officers in Hattieville caught four minors from Mahogany Heights, so we are dealing with that. And this again was on the Whatsapp community group from Sunset.”

“Any information that they may have been linked with previous such incidents?”
ACP Edward Broaster
“We are checking their prints.”

“I think it was also through that group that we learnt that they broke into someone house but to get around that they had to pull out the meter; tell us about that one?”
ACP Edward Broaster
“This one was in Lake Gardens. What happened was that the burglars pulled out the meter to cut the electricity to the residence, but the backup battery kicked in and still flood the alarm. So, we were able to foil that burglary. And then the second burglary that they attempted to do, they did the same thing. They pulled out the meter. But thank God there was a neighbor who saw them and called the Police as well. That burglary again was foiled.”
