San Pedro Man Charged for Drug Trafficking
Fifty-five-year-old Moises Roberto Soriano of Pescador Drive, San Pedro Town, is out on bail after being caught in possession of cocaine on the island. Soriano pleaded not guilty before Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer and was released on bail of three thousand dollars by lunchtime. On Thursday, he was found by police to be going against the flow of traffic on a bicycle on the busy downtown street. They stopped him and observed that he was acting suspiciously, holding his hand in a tight fist. They asked to search him after he refused to open his hand and upon prying open the fist, officers saw that Soriano was carrying a transparent plastic bag contained the suspected drug. The weight of the narcotic was found to be three point eight grams, which qualified him for the heavier charge of drug trafficking rather than possession of controlled drugs. Soriano reappears in court in San Pedro on March second, 2017.
