“Mischievous act” trial set for March
In other police news, U.S. citizen Donna Reishus today appeared in Punta Gorda Magistrate’s Court to answer charges of committing a mischievous act. The case was adjourned until March second and Reishus, a volunteer nurse, posted the required five hundred dollars bail plus a surety for the same amount. Magistrate Eric Fairweather ordered the police to return her passport, which they eventually did. Reishus has questioned police conduct in the interrogation of witnesses in the case against three U.S. citizens accused of sexual exploitation of children. Police say that it is Reishus who has attempted to illegally interfere with the witnesses.
