Plenty Weed and a Firearm Off the Streets
Eastern Division police continue their efforts to remove cannabis and weaponry from the streets, making one arrest. A sixteen-year-old minor has been charged with drug trafficking. Around twelve-forty Saturday afternoon, police patrolling on Raccoon Street saw two men on separate bicycles at the corner with Curassow Street. One of the youths was carrying a black plastic bag, coming toward them. But upon seeing the police mobile vehicle, he turned down Raccoon Street and headed toward Central American Boulevard, throwing away the bag. Police quickly caught him and retrieved the bag, which contained just under a pound of marijuana. Police also made separate finds of cannabis and marijuana on Saturday. A search of an abandoned area across from the Wilton Cumberbatch Field on Caesar Ridge Road led to a hundred and eighteen grams of cannabis and a black Smith and Wesson firearm. In the afternoon, behind a building on Handyside Street, six hundred and thirty-eight grams of cannabis in a black plastic bag was recovered. All recovered items were labeled as found property, as there were no culprits in the immediate area of either search.
